this has basic bullet point objectives of every chapter, it gives you your jargon laden paragraph long definition of a feature or whatever, then explains it in a simplified way you can understand. it has examples for each type of feature and they ramp up in difficulty.and at the end of each chapter it has a review/ practice problems.this is a good book.
A very good book, I've read through it. A few sections I had to read through multiple times because they were a bit too dense, but they made sense on a second read through. It focuses a lot on the technical details of implimentation with a lot of specific examples throughout, it would be nicer to have more general, plain language explanations with less half-page blocks of pure technobabble. Very excellent though, I learned a lot reading through it and it has helped me in my job as a CAD drafter. A must-have for anybody in the manufacturing sector.
Knowing almost nothing about GD&T this book (along with some YouTube videos) has helped close the gap. They have lots of examples and situations on how to apply the specific rules.It was kinda expensive (~90) and not even in color. If you have the cash and like to have references for work this it’s worth it.
This book explains GD&T in a much clearer way than the ASME Y14.5-2009 standard, and the fill in the blank questions and problems at the end of each chapter are great for making sure the knowledge gained sticks.
Book goes into great depth about application, interpretation, and inspection of geometric tolerance. It has a great format that is easy to follow and it's illustrations are not overly simplistic nor colorfull and convoluted. In general the book is succinct and to the point. Remember however that GD&T is an art form and thus it's application can vary.
As a professional engineer, but not an expert drafter, I have often had difficulty deciphering and applying GD&T. After reading this book everything was much more clear. I now use it as a reference when I have to apply GD&T to a drawing and am not sure exactly the right approach.
Very informative quality book that will teach you the tricky business of how some might interpret GD&T
Supremely written especially in comparison to many other available resources. This book is great for someone new to GD&T as well as those already familiar who would like a deeper understanding
