I am a Mental Health Counselor and did not have a good experience using this product with my clients. Adolescents found the cards boring and it was very difficult trying to engage them. After a few times, I just decided not to use them anymore.
Dr. Bernstein has a knack for connecting with children and teens. Here, he shares some more of his tools with other clinicians to use. I am happy to have this Card Deck to help promote conversation with resistant teens! I also think it could be used by parents to develop conversations.
These cards are awesome! As a psychologist who works with a lot of teens, I will be using them often. I highly recommend them for other therapists or parents.

I just finished reading through these cards this morning and used them right away. I purchased them with an eye on helping my pre teen daughter, express herself in a productive manner. She has rare special needs but is a bright, social little girl that has problems expressing how she really feels. When she gets angry she tends to keep it inside until she is at the point of total frustration, in tears unable to express what the real problem is. We "practiced" with a number of the cards this morning and it was extremely helpful. They are written in a way that is thoughtful and geared towards the young persons frame of mind. I highly recommend them!
